Is this the perfect one-page economic development website?

The Mineral Wells Economic Development Corporation in Texas runs on a team of one. Its new website answers, on a single page, almost every question a site selector asks, with four Localintel Dashboards doing the work that would otherwise take a much larger staff.

The challenge

Mineral Wells sits about an hour west of Fort Worth, close enough to the Metroplex to matter, far enough to stand on its own. Its economic development office is led by one person, Nate Dyhre, who handles the RFIs, the consultant calls and the site proposals himself.

The questions coming in are always the same. How big is the community? What’s the workforce like? What’s the housing market? How far to the nearest airport, rail line or port?

When the EDC set out to build a new website alongside a citywide rebrand, the goal was the opposite of sprawling. “Our website is truly supposed to be kind of an elevator pitch,” Dyhre said. For a one-person office, the site also had to maintain itself.

The approach

Mineral Wells built a one-page site with four Localintel Dashboards supplying the data underneath the message: Community Profile, Logistics & Accessibility Advantages, Quality of Life and Workforce Advantages. Together they answer the exact questions Dyhre fields on every project. The data is sourced from trusted government sources and kept current automatically: nothing to update, nothing to maintain.

“Every single thing that you guys provide is exactly what we need. It’s been great. We’ve had no issues at all. Lee has been very attentive. Every question my board had, he was able to remedy.”

The result

The site tells a credible story fast, lets visitors engage with the data themselves, and frees a solo economic developer from assembling the same facts for every inquiry. It’s proof that a focused, data-backed page can outperform a website many times its size and cost.

The dashboards on the Mineral Wells site draw on the same sourced indicators as every other Localintel product, so an office that starts with a dashboard can add a report, or the full platform, without the numbers changing.
