It brings public, licensed and each team’s own data together in one place and turns it into reports, dashboards, profiles and insights about their community, with every figure traceable to a named source. Our story
Localintel started in 2016 with an observation about small and mid-sized communities across the U.S. and Canada. Most had real advantages worth communicating to investors, funders, councils and residents. Few had the time, the tools or the specialist capacity to do it well. The data existed. A practical way for an economic development office or a municipal team to turn it into credible, publishable work did not.
We began with interactive website widgets, so an economic development organization could publish current, sourced data on its own site without a developer or an analyst. Hundreds of conversations with government teams since then made one thing clear: the need went well beyond the website. Teams needed reports for grant applications, profiles for site selectors, stories for council presentations and charts for public consultations, all from the same trusted numbers. The Localintel platform is our answer: one place where a community’s data comes together, and a set of products that turn it into finished work, each available on its own or together as Localintel One.
Government and economic development teams are now expected to communicate more, to more audiences, than ever before. The teams doing that work are not getting larger. The ask is. Localintel exists to close that gap: to take a team from question to finished, defensible work in minutes rather than days, with every figure traceable to its source.

Dave Parsell
Dave spent 20 years in senior consulting and local government roles across the UK, Australia, and North America, specializing in economic development and strategic planning. Localintel grew from a pattern he observed across those years: capable government teams, consistently unable to produce the credible, publish-ready content their work required, with the tools and time available to them.
Mehdi Amoui
Mehdi spent 20 years building enterprise software systems and leading technical teams at startups and large technology companies, and holds a PhD in software engineering from the University of Waterloo. Localintel is his answer to a problem he wanted to solve: how to take scattered, inconsistent data about places and turn it into structured, reliable content that non-specialist government teams can actually use.
